Kursa Open House Saturday, July 25th

Kursa 2026 – Open House and commemoration of memorial plaque for Pastor Daira Cilne Please join us on Saturday, July 25 for Kursa’s Open House. We warmly invite everyone to come see our classrooms and community!

Visitors will have the opportunity to view student work in ceramics, crafts, and jewelry making, as well as meet this year’s teachers and counselors.

It will also be possible to take the Latvian State Language Proficiency Examination. If you are interested, please contact admin@kursa.org Sample exams for each proficiency level are available here: https://www.viaa.gov.lv/lv/parbaudes-programma

Schedule

Saturday, July 25 Beginning at 10:00 a.m. Open House: campus tours, meeting with teachers, ceramics and jewelry exhibits, and folk dancing practice.

12:00 p.m. Memorial service and dedication of the commemorative plaque honoring Reverend Daira Cilne, led by Dean Anita Vārsberga in the Kursa chapel

1:00 p.m. Lunch

2:00 p.m. Afternoon workshop in either Traditional Handcrafts or Ceramics Please register in advance here: https://forms.gle/KHzrX4AuvsHj3qPc9

4:00 p.m. Swimming and free time around campus

6:00 p.m. Flag ceremony and community dinner 7:30 p.m. Folk dance night – "Danči" – everyone may join in!

Throughout the day: Latvian Language Proficiency Examinations (by advance registration only)

Kursa Graduation will take place on Saturday, August 1, at 10:00 a.m.
